Sewage Treatment Plant

The objective of the treatment is to improve existing treatment system using microbial-based product from BioSense. Two types of products will be used in the treatment; BioEnviro (liquid form) and BioDango Ball (solid form). BioEnviro will be introduced to the STP using automatic dosing system. The system will be programmed to inject the required amount of liquid periodically at the incoming chamber. This will allowed the microorganism to populate and react from the starting point of the STP system. The microorganism will travel to the rest of the STP system and will populate at each treatment tank. The following equipments will be installed at the suitable location at the STP for the treatment purpose:

  • Dosing system (dosage pump & flow meter)
  • Liquid Tank.

The amount of liquid in tank will be monitored and top-up regularly to ensure continuity of the treatment. *The dosing system is for permanent treatment only. The product will be poured manually during trial or temporary treatment.

 

Normally, BioDango Ball will be placed and speared evenly at the bottom of the tank during treatment. Due to few limitations and as precaution steps, necessary adjustments need to be done at the treatment methodology. Some of the limitations are limited access to the tanks if the top of the tanks is covered with concrete top slab and the risk of disturbing the existing equipment such as pumps and diffusers placed in the tank. Therefore, special anti rust cage will be used in the treatment. The function of this cage is to contain the BioDango Ball during the treatment and the cage will be hanged with chain at the existing grating at the tanks. Regular monitoring will be done to maintain the cage and the BioDango Ball.

 

Expected Results (after 3 months)

  • To comply with Effluent Discharge Regulation at least Standard B
  • Reduce foul odor
  • Reduce sludge production rate

Long Term Results

  • Eliminate cost on upgrading the existing biological system
  • Reduction of sludge disposal frequency
  • Prolong sludge pump lifespan (reduce pump cycle rate)
  • Facilitate on EMS 14001 certification
  • Enable further study to improve STP efficiency
    • Optimize air supply for aeration process
    • Optimize sludge return rate
    • Eliminate usage of air scrubber in large STP
